English club Kryptonite at Basic school

KEC offers a course of English conversation focused on basic schools. The English Club develops children’s communication skills in an informal setting and aims to acquire a foreign language with the correct pronunciation.

About club at Basic school

From what age can my child attend the English club?

The club is suitable for children from grade 0 to grade 9. At each school there are several age categories. The courses are adapted to your child’s current knowledge and the official schooling curriculum.

How does a lesson look like?

It is an intensive and active form of teaching we use language in games, activities and competitions. We simulate natural instructions and reaction by motivating and creating a positive relationship to English. The club spends a large part of the lessons outside. All communication and activities are in English (conversation, tasks, games).

How much does a lesson cost?

The lesson costs 110 CZK and lasts 50 min. Courses are held for six months and the number of hours varies according to the number of public holidays etc.

How many children are in the group?

The minimum number of children in a group is 6 and the maximum number is 15, this provides our teachers to focus on each and every child individually.

How do we select teachers?

The lecturers are native speakers. Equally important is their relationship with children and theire ability to engage and motivate children. Experience in teaching children is a prerequisite, and lecturers are constantly being trained and regularly monitored. In the course of the six months, the lecturer will change for a few lessons. The reason is that the children are acquainted with various accents of native speakers.

What materials do we use?

We use our own materials for children up to the 5th grade. We have many party games, bingo, memory game and more. With children from 5th grade (sometimes before) we use the RaR magazine (each student receives their own copy, which is then worked with). The price for materials is included in the half-year course fee.

Practical informations

How does the child get on the ring and back?

We always cooperate with the after-school classes and the children are picked up and returned to the after-school class. If the children no longer go to the childcare, they come and go alone.

How can you replace the lesson?

Prices per hour are set so low that we do not count on replacement hours. Within the school and if there is a vacancy (which you can see for yourself in the reservation system) it is possible to replace the lesson on another day and at a different time (in a suitable group).

How to excuse/ announce the missed hours?

We recommend apologizin missed hours in the booking system. The apology goes to the teacher and he knows how many children he can count on. This also allows us to prepare games and activities for the right amount of children.

Is it possible to attend a club from another school?

If you want a club at your school, contact us and we will do everything in our power to set it up in the shortest amount of time. If there is a vacancy in the club at the elementary school where you would like to go and the headmaster agrees (you have to ask us about it), it is possible! But always contact us first.
